Happy Author Clients

I hired Srishti to beta-read my 89,000-word adult fantasy novel. Man, am I glad I did! First, she was never more long in responding to our communications, she delivered the project early and was impressively thorough in her feedback. One thing I loved was she did not shy away from diving into the nitty gritty and giving me honest feedback from places she felt were unclear, to suggestions for more impactful sentences or moving scenes around to enhance the readers' connection to the characters. I even laughed out loud at some of her inline comments. It was exactly what I needed and will no doubt enhance the quality of my novel. I would highly recommend her direct and solid feedback!

Wondering what the process looks?

I’ve laid it all out for you …

Step 1

{FREE} Discovery Call + Manuscript Evaluation

Ready to start this journey together? 🚀

We’ll begin with a free 30-minute discovery call. To get started, click on 'Book a Call' and fill out the Pre-Call Questionnaire (super simple & basic, I promise!).

Once you've done that, email me the first three chapters of your manuscript at hello@kathansh.com.

I'll review your responses and the manuscript excerpt, then send you a booking invite for our free call. During our chat, we’ll dive into your book, address any challenges, and make sure we're perfectly aligned to set the stage for our collaboration. 🌟

Step 2

{Low-Cost} Sample Edit

Ready to see my magic in action? ✨ I'll provide a low-cost sample edit for 1k words or your first chapter, giving you a taste of what's to come (and trust me, you will LOVE it). It's my way of ensuring you're confident in our partnership before committing to the full project.

And don't worry, this sample won't break the bank—it's all about making informed decisions without a hefty price tag. 💰

Step 3

Get the Quote!

Impressed by the sample edit? I knew you would be! 😉 Now, let's discuss the nitty-gritty details. We'll talk timelines, deliverables, and all that jazz before I provide you with a tailored quote. No cookie-cutter pricing here—I believe every story is unique and deserves a custom approach.

Most of my author clients pick a combination edit package, hence pricing differs a lot from book to book. So let's chat, and I'll whip up a quote that fits your needs like a glove. 📊💬

Step 4

Contract Signing

Time to seal the deal! 📝 Once you're happy with the quote, I'll send over a contract for us to sign. But don't sweat it—this isn't your typical legal mumbo jumbo. It's a simple document outlining our agreed-upon terms and ensuring we are on the same page.

I truly believe that clarity and communication are the keys to a successful collaboration! 🤝

Step 5

Payment & Confirmation

After signing the contract, it's time to make things official with the payment! 🎉 Think of it as the final step of securing your spot in my availability calendar (i.e. scheduling your project in my pipeline), so I can fully dedicate myself to bringing your story to life without any interruptions.

It's a win-win—you get to kick back in peace while I get to do what I love most: turning your story into the stunning masterpiece it deserves to be.

FAQ

What genres do you accept?

Do you take non-fiction?

Do you take partial submissions?

I accept almost all fiction works be it mainstream genres like fantasy, thriller, romance, or selective pieces under literary fiction. As long as you have a meaningful story, I’m in on it. In non-fiction, I only take up certain subject areas. Please email me at hello@kathansh.com to check if your topic is suitable for me.

Developmental editing is supposed to be done on a complete manuscript because it looks at the novel (or the story) as a whole from a big-picture perspective. If you need feedback on a specific part of your draft, I can do it but it will not include an editorial report {because without the full story, that won’t serve its purpose}.

How much do you charge for your edits?

How much time does it take?

I wish I could do it for free but alas, I don’t have a money tree!
The pricing for each project will depend on the word count, type of edit, and your specific level of language. After evaluating your manuscript and hopping on a free call with you to understand your needs, I take into consideration the amount of time, energy, and expertise your story will require from my end. Then, I create a custom offer based on all these parameters.

I wish I could wave my magic wand and call it a day, but good things take time.
Hence, the answer to this question entirely depends on the length of your book, the type of edit you want, and availability in my calendar. For an average novel (50K-60K words), developmental editing can take about 2 weeks followed by an additional 10-12 days for line editing. Trust me, the wait will be worth it ;)

Will you start working on my novel right away? Or do I need to book in advance?

Entirely depends on my availability. At any given time, my calendar is open for the next three months. So for example, if you reach out to me on 1st March, then you can get a confirmed booking for as late as 31st May. For any dates later than that, I can put you on a waitlist.
Usually, I get booked out 4-6 weeks in advance! So I highly recommend reaching out to me as soon as you can, so you can save your sweet spot.
